It’s been awhile but I’m back with a different style
See I been going through some things that make it hard for me to smile
Wish I could go back in the days, when I was a little child
Living life, feeling free, no worries, and acting wild
But now I’m grown up, it’s time for me to handle responsibilities
As a man, understand with my fam, but y'all ain’t feeling me
Staying positive but distracted with negativity
With-out thinking about the repercussions causing misery
“People tell me slow down you’re moving too fast
You only got one life so live it like it’s your last”
I never liked that saying but nowadays you never know
Always tell my family I love em and I let it show
Everyday it’s smiles and frowns, going through some ups and downs
But when drama invades the room, emotions come around
From using anger as the result of the comeback
To think why would I say that, and think why have I done that?

I’m in this old route, exiting from the past

Looking back wishing I could change things differently
Like my old friends from old schools came to stick with me
Nowadays they only come around when they need too
Only trust myself, while some others be deceitful
Broken promises by homies that I used to roll with
Their fakeness were exposed, and I never even noticed
Kinda like my father, coward you ain’t a man to me
Leaving me to suffer while you start another family
“You said you would be there for me
It’s like you never even care for me, hmm-mmm”
In my eyes it’s clear too see, I shed no tears on what you did to me
The only father that I’d talk to is the man up above
Sometimes I’m wishing he would listen
Probably fed up with all the sinning I’m committing
My worst fear as a black male is a victim of the system
Restore my faith with prayer, uplifting hands are risen

I prevent my imperfections portray my previous past pathetically
While in the present, preparing the prospectively
Picture personal past putting pressure painly pressing me
With a pen and pad I place my problems, put them in perspectively
Like don't be mad when people change like the seasons
Like don't be mad at bullies just ignore and leave them alone
Like don't be mad when folks constructively critiquing
Accept the lesson and learn, that's the reason
“No matter what you’re going through you’re not alone
And everybody has a struggle of they own”
Never blame others for my wrongs, when I'm guilty
Beware my surroundings and stay calm, you feel me?
Don’t take my kind for weakness, your opinions don’t matter
And I gotta think twice before the savage in me snaps again
Never looking back and moving forward that’s what happening
Wish I could explore the world, but instead I'm travelling…
